SPECIAL STUDIES

Paradigm has led numerous cutting-edge special studies to characterize pollutant sources and support development of implementation strategies.  Our expertise regarding bacteria contamination has supported studies and compliance efforts across the U.S.  Bacteria is one of the most ubiquitous and persistent urban contaminants, and bacteria impairments and beach closures can have major economic impacts to the community. We specialize in studies to identify sources and characterize the potential risk to swimmers.  Microbial analyses during our studies have included source identifiers such as HF183, viruses, protozoa and pathogenic bacteria.  We’ve been involved with some of the premiere risk assessment studies including quantitative microbial risk assessment and epidemiological studies. Most importantly, we never lose sight of the key regulations to ensure that our studies can positively affect water quality standards and permit compliance.
